X-Animo

Once a year we at SGVU willingly and quite happily suspend our "curiosity of inquiry" to let our hair down and celebrate X-Animo our Annual Day held every year in the month of March. It offers a forum to the students to showcase their talent in the areas of light music, dance, mimicking, modeling or whatever follies their fertile imagination may encourage them to venture into.

The Frontiers of Biosciences

A workshop on "The Frontier of Biosciences" is organized every year in January where the students of various Universities of country are invited to participate. The programme comprises of various activities like poster competition, quiz competition and practical demonstration of recent techniques of molecular biology and recombinant DNA technology. Experiments are demonstrated by experts.

Management Fest

The "Management fest" is the annual event of ISBM scheduled in the month of March. The purpose of moulding students into management personalities is the common chord that binds all the management schools together and thus necessitates a common meeting ground. This management festival of ISBM is aimed at providing a common platform to the management students, to put them in the state of competition and networking endeavour-a sort of exercise in management to promote and enhance their management caliber.

Aayam-'Techfest'

It is the Annual Tech Fest of the University scheduled in the month of October. It creates a platform and gives opportunity to the upcoming technocrats, to realize their potential & to share their vision and expertise. Apart from this the students also get chance to express themselves & learn skills like decision making, coordinating & organizing. Students are encouraged to improve their technical knowhow and communication skills. It also serves to inculcate the spirit of innovative thinking.

Food Glamour

It is one of the unique activities organized in the month of February by the department of Hotel Management. The main objective is to provide a platform for the display of skills of the students, to motivate & promote leadership, coordination and presentation skills. Besides this, it also helps to develop expertise in international / regional cuisines, Bakery products, Restaurant & Interior decoration skills to exhibit their talent and skills successfully.

Career Fair

Gyan Vihar International patrika Fair is held in the month of May every year. A showcase or panorama of various fields to enrich the blooming buds with specific knowledge of different areas of engineering, management, pharmacy, education etc. In the past 5 years it has become a tradition & has bridged several young minds with education industry and helped them to the destined port.

Pharmacy Week

Pharmacy week is celebrated in the month of November every year. It comprises of different areas of promotion to encourage, assist, disseminate & extend the knowledge & latest trends of pharmacy. School campaigns are organized to impart awareness & interest amongst future pharmacy students. Village / street corner & shopping centre campaigns are held for promoting pharmacy services & free advice on diseases.

Sports Week

Today, students do not get enough leisure time for games or physical exercises. It order to provide our students the maximum opportunity for participation in games & sports & also to develop in them a sense of healthy competition SGVU organises annual sports week.

Suresh Gyan Vihar University has on-campus facilities for a variety of intramural sports and athletic activities like cricket, football, badminton and athletics. We conduct and participate in Inter-Varsity and Inter-Collegiate cricket and football matches. Facilities for indoor recreation like Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess have been provided for those who prefer less structured activities. A fully equipped state of art gymnasium caters for those who like to maintain their own programs of physical conditioning like weight training and jogging. jogging. The university is divided in 6 colleges for sports and extracurricular activities ensuring inclusion of each and every student whether hosteller or day scholar and inter college tournaments are conducted to promote team spirit and leadership.

We possess an excellent playground with a world class 160 yards diameter stadium with turf wicket and state-of-the-art games facilities. This enables us to hold both competitive and friendly matches throughout the year.

Industrial Tours & Excursions

We arrange for periodic industrial visits as a part of our curriculum to introduce the students to the latest trends and changes in the industrial scenario. Depending on the requirement of the particular syllabus these excursions could be short or long. Such trips have proved very useful in keeping the students updated on the needs of the industry and business establishments and the latest developments taking place in these sectors.

ISTE Chapter

A Chapter of the Indian Society for Technical Education has been established in the Institution. All Technical Colleges of the country are members of ISTE. The membership of the society can be either institutional or individual consisting of engineering teachers, administrators or students.

Summer Activities

In order to foster a culture of creativity the university arranges summer camps for volunteering students. The camps provide a platform which offers the students an opportunity to exhibit their innate talents in creative skills like music, dramatics, debate and elocution, dancing, and painting. The camps also offer a chance for the neophytes to hone their skills and develop their personal creativity. The activities provide them a chance to interact with different people hailing from different cultural and geographic backgrounds an important aspect of informal education.

Seminars and Guest Lectures

To help the students stay abreast of the latest trends in their fields of study, guest lectures by experienced academicians and technocrats are regularly arranged. To sharpen their presentation and communication skills, the students are required to present papers during student seminars. In-house faculties are required to conduct seminars in their fields of specialization or on subjects of interest as a part of the academic curriculum.
